Martha and Karin came up from Rochester. David came from Canada by way of staying at his friend Scott's house in Hastings. Scott came along on this visit to the Fair.

It was a hot day, but we enjoyed walking around. Yes, we all had sun hats, sun screen and extra water.

We visited crop art (David's piece in the Out Of State category won a blue ribbon!), Creative Activities (there was some amazing knitting), Education (hey, free fans), the 4-H building (too hot to look at everything -- but Karin and David picked up free "4-H Alumni" buttons), the Art building (some nice stuff).

Between all of us, we consumed four lemonades, a corn dog, four free Culligan waters, two chocolate malts, one cotton candy, two pork chops on a stick and two taco.

We missed out on seeing the Internet-famous "Grumpy Cat" -- who took a brief tour of the crop art exhibit that day.

Impromptu Family Reunion

Here are some pics from our trip to Minnesota last week. Spent some time on the north shore of Lake Superior then came back to Eden Prairie to be greeted by a lot of Wilsons.  Target field was beautiful but the Twins were not.

David Sterner graduates from Ottawa High

David graduated with highest honors. He was one of only a handful of students who achieved straight A's and a >4.0 average. (It is actually higher than 4.0 because they give additional credit to students who take college level courses in addition to regular coursework. I don't remember what his actual grade point was, but it was higher than 4.0, which I never knew was possible! What a scholar!)
